Creative Mother’s Day Ideas from The Rock Star Group
Restaurants will be full to overflowing, delicious dinners will be served in homes, and gifts will be handed out to special people on May 10th. That’s right, Mother’s Day is just a few days away! If you’ve left your celebration plans to the last minute, here are some creative Mother’s Day ideas for celebrating in style.
Grab a Mop and Bucket
That special woman in your life most likely spends a large portion of her time on making sure the surroundings are tidy. Imagine her surprise when she wakes up on Mother’s Day to a sparkling clean home and the free time to enjoy the day.
Depending on the circumstances, you could surprise her with this by having someone help you distract her on Saturday. Then, you go to work. You can do the usual cleaning but if it’s possible think beyond those boundaries. Get creative! Shampoo the carpet. Buff the floors. Clean the appliances.
Make sure to leave some fresh flowers on the table. The goal here is to make it look like the house cleaning fairy stopped in to visit your mother.

Check the Time
One of the most precious gifts you can give to a mother is your time. As children get older and busy with their lives, they often lose close contact with their mother. Stop in and spend some time just talking with your mother. Take a genuine interest in her life and the things that interest her.
Bring some old photos along to take a stroll down memory lane. Think about what she likes and treat her to a special tea or dessert. If you’re far from your mother set aside some time to give her a call or connect with her via a video chat.
A special gift that works for this Mother’s Day idea is a lovely watch or clock. Attach a handwritten note to the gift that says: I’ll always have time for you.
Set a Date
Give the gift that keeps on giving. Call or visit your mother and bring along two small calendars and a permanent marker. Pour her a glass of her favorite wine or choose her favorite coffee. Make the atmosphere special.
Open the calendars and turn to May. Circle the date of the current day with a heart and note the time on the calendars in that space. Next, turn to the month of June and choose another date. Make a date with your Mother, once a month for the next 12 months. You keep one calendar and your mother keeps the other calendar.
You can either decide what you will do on each date or just make a commitment for the specific days to be set aside. It can be a lot of fun to plan ahead, and it will give you time to plan bigger things than you normally may think to do with your mother. Don’t be scared to plan something big! If your Mother has always wanted to take a cruise, circle the date and make it happen.

Pick a Card
Mother’s Day is a huge holiday for card sales, but the cards I am referring to are normally used to play games. Purchase a nice pack of cards and a permanent marker. A deck of cards includes 52 cards, and there are 52 weeks in the year.
Sit down and write a special thought on each card. Include things you love about your mother, special memories, and other words that you feel inspired to write. When you’re done, wrap the card box in a ribbon and deliver it to your mother. Instruct her to draw one card a week for the next year. This gift will continue to show your love and appreciation long after Mother’s Day has passed.
Beautiful gifts are wonderful on Mother’s Day, but you don’t have to limit yourself to store bought items that show your affection. Gifts from the heart have been cherished by mothers from all over the world since the first child handed their mother a hand-picked wildflower. Consider the stick-figure drawing your mother was so proud to hang on the refrigerator when you were in kindergarten. Think about how you can hear the smile in her voice when you call unexpectedly.
