Make Your Home Smell Like Home
Depersonalizing Your Home
When preparing a home for sale, it is extremely important to make sure that your lawn is in the best shape possible. When buyers come to look at your home, it is the first thing they see. The backyard is very important, as well, so make sure you are not leaving that out in your lawn maitenance.
Here are some steps to follow in order to make sure that your lawn is home-selling ready:
Make sure that you are keeping up with watering your lawn regularly. The heat and the sun will dry out your lawn quickly, so watering it frequently will provide a nice, green color for home buyers to gaze upon.
Make sure that you are mowing your lawn frequently, so that home buyers aren’t walking through a forest when they take a look at your lawn. This includes the edges around the yard. You do not want any stragglers making the grass look uneven.
Prune your hedges and bushes. Make sure that there are no stray branches or dead ends on the bushes in your yard. This is an eye-sore and may take away from the beauty of the rest of the lawn.
Make sure that you are raking up any leaves that may have fallen in your backyard. This can be a distraction and deter the buyer from paying attention to the yard as a whole.
3. Backyard Maintenance
Follow the same guides as above, but you also want to make sure that if you have a pool, the water is clean and free from bugs, leaves, or debris.
Check your patio furniture. Is it dusty and dirty? Make sure you are cleaning those off, as well, or it may be distracting to the potential buyer.
