Wonderwild Woodlands
This indoor playground is a great way to let your little ones blow off some steam, even when the weather is less than ideal. The indoor area features a jungle gym area, a crocodile themed slide and even a party room for birthday kids. Riva Row Boat House
Located at the west end of the Woodlands Waterway, the park where this boathouse is located connects the upper and lower levels of the waterway. The boathouse offers kayak rentals. You can spend a day on the Waterway and even grab a snack at the concession stand afterward. The boat house was designed not only for function by also to appeal to sculptural aesthetics. YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center
With plenty of open space and lots of adventure, kids will burn off energy by the buckets at this outdoor activity. The YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center includes a huge 30-foot swing, an inflatable waterslide, an elevated boardwalk (ranging from 8 and 20 feet off the ground), 12 themed treehouses, hiking, archery, outdoor chapel, and a 50-foot tower for climbing. The Koi Gardens
Located on the south side of the Woodlands Waterway, this koi pond and garden are set on two small islands that are accessible via pedestrian bridge. The garden features a 60,000 gallon koi pond, exotic plants, decorative walls and fences as well as Asian vegetation. The pond includes Japanese-imported Koi and are bright, colorful and fun for kids to watch. Cultural Activities

The Woodlands Children Museum
This museum was designed with kids in mind. The Woodlands Children Museum will be enjoyed best by children ages 7 and under. Kids can enjoy playing with giant building blocks, detailed play kitchen area, a stage with costumes, water station and craft tables. Admission is $5 for adults and children over 2 and permits admission to the museum all day. There are two separate play areas for smaller children to play safely. Potteryland Studio
Potteryland is a great place for children and adults. Guests choose a piece of undecorated pottery from the collection available. Items include cups, frames, plates, bowls etc. Then you paint and decorate your pottery with provided paints. Once your piece is completed, you’ll label your piece and we’ll glaze and fire it for you. You can typically pick up your completed artwork within a week. The studio not offers canvas options as well. To participate you’ll have to pay a studio fee as well as the price of your pottery piece. The Woodlands Art League
This is a great way to spend a hot afternoon. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features a selection of art pieces from local artists. While this exhibit may appeal to older children and teens, the gallery also offers art classes like kid’s creative drawing, acrylic painting and mixed media, and kid’s creative painting. Shankz Blacklight Miniature Golf:
This family-friendly activity takes miniature golf to a whole new level. The 18-hole glow-in-the dark miniature golf course features huge decorations including giant dinosaurs, animals and plants. The course is challenging enough to entertain parents and teens, but fun enough for little ones to get in on the action. When you are done with golf, you can head over to the air cannon course to shoot rubber balls at each other from air-compressed cannons. The Woodlands Repertory Theater
Enjoy a night out at the theater with the entire family. This pre-professional theater is designed to promote early actors in high-quality stage productions. Families can see shows like My Son Pinocchio and My Fair Lady. The theater offers roles to individuals 8 to 20, so if you have a budding actor in your home, they have auditions for roles at least twice a year. The theater offers training for grade school kids up to adults and offers acting classes as well. Classes fill up quickly, so you should plan on calling in advance to sign up.
